    This guideline is to support the types of transactions authorised by the Greater Christchurch Regeneration Act 2016, including acquisitions of land by the Crown, and subsequent holding, mortgaging, leasing, amalgamation and disposal of that land.

  • Transmission following amalgamation of companies Guideline 2018 – LINZG20784

    The Companies Act 1993 allows for companies to amalgamate. After amalgamation, the amalgamated company may wish to deal with estates or interests that are still registered in the name of an amalgamating company.

  • Removal of Easements Guideline 2018 – LINZG20774

    When an easement or profit à prendre has ended due to merger, redundancy or extinguishment, the grantor or grantee of the easement may apply to the Registrar to have the easement removed from the register. Sections 113, 114 and 115 of the Land Transfer Act 2017 set out the process for applications.

  • Alterations to the Register Guideline 2018 – LINZG20779

    Section 21 of the Land Transfer Act 2017 authorises the Registrar-General of Land to make alterations to correct errors in the Register in limited circumstances. Care must be taken to only exercise this discretionary alterations power in appropriate cases.

    This standard specifies statutory requirements, and requirements for the retention of evidence for the certification of electronic instruments. It is made under section 236 of the Land Transfer Act 2017 by the Registrar- General of Land.
