Land Information New Zealand’s (LINZ’s) survey and title services are funded by fees charged to the service users (mainly lawyers, conveyancers, and surveyors, who pass the fee costs on to their clients).

This Cabinet paper sought authorisation to undertake public consultation on proposed fees for LINZ survey and title services. Cabinet authorised public consultation on Monday 1 March 2021.

Seeks Cabinet authorisation to undertake public consultation on proposed fees for LINZ survey and title services. Notes that the cost to recover is an average of $83.1 million per year over the next five years, and that recovering these costs will require title fees to increase by 13 percent on average and survey fees to increase by 57 percent on average.
