The Rules for Assessment of Carrying Capacity of Crown Pastoral Land (Rents for Pastoral Leases) are issued by the Valuer-General under section 23O of the Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998.
The Rules are intended to ensure there is an efficient, predictable and objective process for setting pastoral lease rents, based on earning capacity which can be monitored and audited.
The Rules provide requirements that the Commissioner of Crown Lands, assessors and expert determiners must meet when assessing carrying capacity for Crown pastoral land lease rents.
