What is proposed?
The proposal is to alter Farewell Rise to Onetāhua Rise and make it the official name of a low, broad, elongated undersea rise that extends from Cape Farewell towards Cape Egmont.
The Board considered this proposal report at its meeting on 20 April 2021. The proposal was notified for one month so that the public can make submissions supporting or objecting to the name.
