Geodetic

We manage and maintain physical geodetic marks throughout New Zealand (including the offshore islands) and Antarctica. This section provides information about accessing mark information and downloading mark data.

We provide specialist geodetic products such as transformation grids and geodetic software. These are used for geodetic network adjustments and converting data between coordinate systems in New Zealand.

The New Zealand Coordinate Conversions form can be used to convert coordinates between datums, projections and height coordinate systems used in New Zealand.

The Toitū Te Whenua PositioNZ network currently consists of 37 continuously operating reference stations (CORS) located throughout New Zealand (including the Chatham Islands) and Antarctica. Data is also available from several other CORS in New Zealand and Antarctica.

SouthPAN (Southern Positioning Augmentation Network) will improve the accuracy and reliability of satellite-based positioning systems in New Zealand and Australia.
