What is proposed?

The proposal is to alter D'Urville Seavalley to Rangitoto-ki-te-Tonga / d'Urville Valley and make it the official dual name of an undersea valley that extends from 60km south of Cape Egmont south-eastwards to Narrows Basin in Cook Strait.

The Board considered this proposal report at its meeting on 20 April 2021. The proposal was notified for one month so that the public can make submissions supporting or objecting to the name.

The Board considered this report on submissions for Onetāhua Rise at its 22 July 2021 hui.

The Board considered this report at its 20 October 2021 hui.

Rangitoto-ki-te-Tonga / d'Urville Valley is officially altered from D’Urville Seavalley.
