Parliament’s Environment Committee yesterday presented its report on the Crown Pastoral Land Reform Bill.

The Committee’s recommended changes to the Bill take into account extensive feedback from leaseholders, iwi, interest groups and the wider public.

Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand Deputy Chief Executive of Crown Property Jerome Sheppard said Toitu Te Whenua was preparing to support the next phase of the Bill progression. 

The Bill, which will end tenure review and make changes to the regulatory system to improve the way Crown pastoral land is managed, will now proceed to a second reading.
