Landonline allows for the extraction and importing of survey data using LandXML file format.

Illegal characters are other than alphanumeric characters that LandXML will not accept. For example, degree symbols (°) and superscript characters (m2).

LINZ has released a plugin allowing you to import LandXML extracts from Landonline into the commonly used open source GIS application Quantum GIS.
