Road, address and places data
Access road, address and places data through the LINZ Data Service.
LINZ is responsible for holding official address and road, and electoral streets and places data. Through the New Zealand Geographic Board, LINZ is also the source of official geographic names.

Download official address and road name data from the LINZ Data Service. This data is updated on the LINZ Data Service every week.
Electoral - streets and places
LINZ publishes the Index of Streets and Places for electoral purposes. The Index is used by electoral returning officers to assist in registering special votes in the correct electorate on election day.

The Index of Streets and Places is available in hard-copy for sale from the Electoral Commission’s Enrolment Services team.

Authoritative Streets and Places Database
In June 2014, LINZ moved the information from the Authoritative Streets and Places database (ASP) into Landonline and the database is no longer maintained. An archived version of the ASP data can be accessed via the LINZ Data Service.
Place names data
The New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa manages a Gazetteer of official geographic names. You can find and view official and unofficial place names in the New Zealand Gazetteer web application or download the data through the LINZ Data Service.
