Land Record Search can be accessed from any computer or mobile device, using a supported browser, within the hours of operation.

Make sure you are using a supported browser within the Landonline hours of operation.

Access Land Record Search

You can access Land Record Search:

  1. from the LINZ homepage, select the button Search for and order a land record (see screen below)

  1. by entering lrs.linz.govt.nz/search/ in the address bar of a supported internet browser, or

Familiarise yourself with the layout and features

You can access Land Record Search from the LINZ website using the following steps:  – go to Products and services > Land records > Land Record Search and select the Access Land Record Search button, or using the Access Land Record Search button to the at the start of this section.

From the Land Record Search landing page, you have two ways to search – using the search field or the map. Select the Toitū Te Whenua LINZ logo anytime to return.

  1. Select the Toitū Te Whenua LINZ logo to clear any search results and return to the home page.
  2. Search using the Search field:
    • Select the search options drop-down menu to access the various search options, such as Title, Survey or Instrument.
    • Use the search box to type in the details of your search, e.g. Address, Title reference, survey number, etc.
  3. Search using the map:
    • Use the zoom buttons to navigate to the area you are searching for.
