Multiple owners’ names displaying incorrectly on Title summary page

November 2025

When you view a Title summary in Web Search, the registered owners’ names are displayed in the summary. Where multiple owners are listed, they should display with commas (or icons) separating each name.

Examples:

Registered Owners     John Totara, Jane Kauri, Bob Pohutukawa
or:

In some cases, for example where the owners are tenants in common, the names are displaying with no comma or icon separating them, which makes it difficult to identify how many owners there are.

To clarify the names without ordering the title:

  1. Expand the Historical Instruments section below Current Instruments on the Title summary page. Left-click on the most recent Transfer (or Transmission) to open the Instrument summary page.

  2. The Instrument information for the transfer will display the new owners’ names, correctly separated by a person icon or a comma.

We are working on getting this issue fixed as soon as possible.

Territorial Authorities layer not fully loading

Oct 2025

If you turn on the Territorial Authorities (TA) layer when the spatial map is zoomed out to New Zealand’s extents, only some of the TA boundaries will display. In the example image below, most of the South Island TA boundaries are missing.

Note: Zooming in AFTER turning the layer on will not make the missing boundaries appear.

We are working to resolve this issue. In the meantime, to view missing TA boundaries:

  1. Refresh your browser window. Either:
    • press F5 or CTRL+R on your keyboard
    • select the Landonline icon at the top left of the screen
    • reload the window using browser refresh.
  2. Zoom in closer to the area where you would like to see the TA boundary.
  3. Turn on the Territorial Authorities layer. It will now load correctly for the zoomed in area.

Multi-file formats for survey plans

You now have multi-file format options for survey plans:

  • PDF
  • JPG – available only for 1-page plans
  • TIFF – not available for Imperial Plan (Colour).

However, TIFF and JPG are currently unavailable for plans registered after April 2025. We are working to have a solution for plans after April 2025 in the future.

Browser Update Required for PDF Downloads in New Landonline

The way files are downloaded from our Web Search app has been changed to enhance the reliability and performance of our file download system. These improvements require newer versions of web browsers to support this functionality.

Older versions of Chrome or Edge browsers can't handle the download correctly and produce an XML file instead of a PDF.

To ensure you receive PDF files when downloading in Web Search, we recommend updating your web browser to the latest version.

Print spatial map

Print spatial map is not currently available in Web Search. As a workaround, you can try using screenshot tools (for example, Snipping Tool in Windows or Windows+Shift+S) to capture and print from the spatial screen.

You can also use the following tips to include more information in your screenshot:

  • Turn on “show numerical map scale” from Map Settings to have the map scale in your screenshot.

  • Turn on all the layers / labels you would like to see.

  • Collapse the product list and summary panel to maximise the spatial view. You can find more information on this page:

CSV Fee Report incompatibility with Other Software

The way the rows are sorted in web search differ from legacy which may cause errors when attempting to import it into external applications. To resolve, the rows must be sorted in ascending (alphabetical) order using the Client Reference column.

We hope to address this issue in the future but in the meantime instructions to do this using Excel are as follows:

  1. Download the CSV file from Web Search and open it in Microsoft Excel
  2. Go to the Data tab on the Ribbon and then click on Sort. This will open the Sort dialog box.
  3. In the Sort dialog box:
    1. Choose CLIENTREF from the Sort by dropdown.
    2. Select A to Z from the Order dropdown.
    3. Click OK to apply the change.

Your data should now be sorted by the CLIENTREF column. You may now import this into your external application.

Search filters not displayed on single search result

Landonline Web Search screen with the search filters highlighted

This issue affects all search modes that have filters:

  • Title - Registered Owner
  • Title - Legal Description
  • Title - Parcel ID

When you are on any single search result and swapping to the above search methods, the filters are not displayed.

Examples

If a search returns to multiple title results

You can change the filters

If a search returns to only one result

You are not able to change the filters as the filters are not displayed.  Note: You are not able to get the filters back by swapping to the other search methods.

Workaround

The way to get the filters back is by returning to the search home page.

You can:

  • return to search home page by clicking the LINZ logo

The LINZ logo highlighted in Landonline Web Search
  • or return to the search app by using the App Switcher
