As part of the 2022 Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori celebrations, the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa is pleased to announce greater prominence to our te reo Māori name.

Toitū Te Whenua works with Te Kāhui Whakatau (part of the Office for Māori Crown Relations – Te Arawhiti) to manage surplus Crown properties in the Treaty Settlements Landbank.

This pānui focuses on some of the practical mahi LINZ has undertaken, which includes a continuing focus on data that can support iwi and Māori aspirations with planning, climate resilience and hazard management including flooding, and infrastructure development.

A long-standing Treaty grievance for mana whenua will be addressed when the New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa formally changes Maxwell to Pākaraka today.

The Commissioner of Crown Lands, Craig Harris, has issued his rehearing decision regarding the lease of Crown Land to the Awataha Marae Society.

We’re over the moon for our colleague, Apanui Williams (Api) Kaitohutohu Matamua / Principal Advisor Māori Crown Relations, who has been awarded Te Tohu Amorangi a Te Kawa Mataaho, the Public Service Commissioner's Commendation for Excellence.

A schedule is published frequently with new Crown properties declared surplus. Iwi are invited to register their interest in these properties with the Office for Māori Crown Relations – Te Arawhiti.
