Kia ora

Mehemea he pātai āu, pātai mai, whakamōhio mai e te whānau!

Greetings

The Māori Crown Relations team is excited to provide the first issue of our pānui to provide information on our services, products and Treaty settlement activities that may be of value to Iwi and Māori. This is a quarterly pānui that will focus on themes related to LINZ mahi, the first of which are those areas that gather, disseminate or promote information on land related activities.

Our mahi matters

Ngā Poutama Matawhenua

These online wānanga help those working for iwi, Māori trusts and environmental groups learn how to map whenua and tell stories through GIS mapping. These interactive wānanga are hour long lunchtime sessions, usually on the first or second Friday of the month (12:30 to 1:30pm).

LiDAR

LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a powerful tool that has several useful applications for Māori, particularly in areas related to environmental management, natural hazards, climate change, 3D visualisation, archaeology, and cultural heritage preservation. Our LiDAR data is open to the public and covers most of Aotearoa.
