Seeking clarification or review of a survey requisition

Find out what to do if your Cadastral Survey Dataset (CSD) has been requisitioned and you would like further clarification or a requisition review.

For clarification of a survey requisition

If a requisition needs clarifying or you disagree with a requisition, you can undertake a requisition clarification by either:

  1. Phoning or emailing the Property Rights Analyst processing your CSD.  Their contact details will be included on the requisition notice.
  2. Submitting a ‘Survey_Requisition Clarification’ request within the CSD in Landonline. This request will be passed on to the approver who will call you back within two working days.

For a review of a survey requisition

Pre-approval

You can use this process to request a requisition review before you complete any of the requisition items. Please complete a Review of Survey Requisition form (attachment below) and attach it to a Landonline request of the type ’Survey_Requisition Review’.

If possible, please use the clarification process to query a requisition. You will find it a faster process than a review.

Post-approval

You can use this process to request a requisition review after you complete all requisition items.  This will prevent the approval of the dataset being delayed.

Please complete a Review of Survey Requisition form (attachment below) and email it to customersupport@linz.govt.nz with ’Review of Survey Requisition’ in the subject line.

Once LINZ receives your request, we will investigate and communicate the outcome of the review to you.

When you submit a request for a requisition review, please provide a reason why you think the requisition is invalid. The Cadastral Survey Rules 2021 were set at a level to mitigate significant risks to the cadastre, so all rule failures are considered to be important.
