Crown Pastoral Land Regulatory System – Regulatory System Assessment
The Crown Pastoral Land Regulatory System is part of the broader Crown Land Regulatory System. The Crown Land Regulatory System creates the framework by which the Crown can buy and sell land, in a way that balances both public interests and private property rights. The system seeks to protect the rights of private landowners, iwi and others while enabling the Crown to efficiently and effectively acquire or dispose of land for government purposes.

Investigations in support of PositioNZonLine
With the planned release of the PositioNZ-PP on-line GPS procession tool, LINZ requires updated models to predict forward the position of each of the continuous GPS reference stations of the PositioNZ network and transformation parameters between NZGD2000 and the current GNSS reference frame. This report summarizes the results of Otago University School work in these two areas.

Gravity and the geoid
Geoids and quasigeoids are reference surfaces that accurately represent the Earth’s shape and gravitational field. By collecting gravity data (which differs with latitude, elevation, geology and time), gravity field models are created to compute the geoid, which is then used as reference for a vertical datum.
