Paper or manual TA certifications

How to add paper or manual TA certifications to a survey.

When a Territorial Authority (TA) cannot perform online certification, they will send the surveyor a paper or manual TA certification. This will need to be scanned and attached as a supporting document to the survey.

You can attach the certificate to the survey yourself before submission, or via an Approved CSD correction/amendment request after approval. Alternatively, the TA can attach it from their end.

If you have submitted your survey and need to add a manual TA certification, you will need to raise a Return Survey Dataset request to return the survey to your workspace before you can attach it. See:

How to attach a paper or manual TA certification to a survey before submission

  1. Scan the TA certification to your files.
  2. Select the Supporting documents icon on the workflow control bar on your survey.
  3. Select +Add supporting documents.
  4. Drag and drop the PDF image of the certification into the box or select browse to upload it.
  5. Click on the arrow to bring up the Document type dropdown menu.
  6. Select Territorial Authority (TA) Certificate as the document type.
  7. Add information in Comment field if needed.
  8. Select Attach files.  
  9. A pop-up box will confirm the upload. The TA certification will now appear in your Supporting documents panel.

How to attach a paper or manual TA certification to an approved survey

A surveyor can't add or replace a manual TA certification to a survey once it has been approved, as the survey is no longer in the surveyor’s workspace.

To attach or replace a certification to an approved survey either:

  • Raise an Approved CSD correction/amendment request from your Requests application. Include a scanned PDF image of the new TA certification so LINZ can add or replace the existing certification.

  • Send the scanned TA certification to the Territorial Authority and ask them to attach it to the survey as a supporting document. The TA can search for the approved survey in their workspace.
