The New Zealand Geographic Board Ngā Pou Taunaha o Aotearoa (NZGB) is New Zealand’s national place naming authority. The Minister for Land Information, the Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations and the Minister of Conservation can also make decisions on place names.
