Parcel Label - moving the Parcel Label in Plan Generation

Landonline attempts to place parcel labels within the greatest area of clear space in the parcel. While most often successful, there are instances where the parcel label will require moving into a better location for clarity.

Please check the position of parcel labels after performing parcel linking at Capture.

How do I check labels?

Once parcels have been linked, turn on (visible in the Spatial Window) the new parcel labels. If the parcel labels have been placed along a thin access way or other areas of crowded labels, you need to move them before accessing plan generation.

Parcel Label example 1

How do I move labels?

  1. In the Parcel List screen, highlight the parcel for which you wish to correct the label position.
  2. Select the Move Label button on the right hand side of the screen.
  3. Click on the Spatial Window to indicate the centre of the new label position.
Parcel Label example 2

If parcel labels are not moved in the capture screens but are moved in the Plan Layout Sheets (Plan Generation)- and then moved in the capture screens - the corresponding parcel label in the Plan Layout Sheets will be moved outside the parcel boundaries.

The initial label movement in the Plan Layout Sheets is exaggerated by any subsequent parcel label movement in the capture screens.

As a general rule

  1. You should regenerate the Plan Layout sheet after performing any edits at Capture to confirm that Layout sheets have regenerated correctly.
  2. Please confirm the Plan Layout before submitting the dataset.
