3. Add, edit or remove an instrument

At least one instrument and one Primary Contact must be added before a dealing number can be saved.

Overview

When setting up a dealing at least one instrument and one Primary Contact role must be entered before a dealing number can be issued. The dealing can then be saved without the other instrument roles being added.

Preparing an instrument in a dealing includes identifying the instrument type and the affected titles.

  • You can add more than one of the same instrument types to a dealing.
  • You can have up to 50 instruments per dealing, 300 titles per instrument, or 350 titles per dealing.
  • For dealings that contain more than these, contact our contact centre (0800 665 463 or customersupport@linz.govt.nz).

Instruments should be organised in the order that they are to be registered on the affected title.

What to do

  1. Click into the Add Instrument field. A list of the most commonly used instruments will appear. If the instrument you are after appears in this list, select it.

  1. If the instrument you are after doesn't appear in the list, start typing the code (such as DM, T or M) or description (such as Mortga…) to filter the list of instruments and select the correct one.

Instruments that are greyed out aren’t yet supported in Landonline and will need to be completed in Legacy Landonline.

  2. To add additional instruments to a dealing, click the Add Instrument button.
  3. Use the three-dot icon at the end of the row to find more options, such as to reorder the instrument list, prepare an instrument or delete an instrument.

You can’t change the instrument type once selected. You must delete the one you don't want and use the Add Instrument button to add the one you do want.
