LINZ has received an encouraging response to its call for expressions of interest in leasing four Crown-owned sites at Lake Dunstan, with the submission period now closed.
LINZ Head of Crown Property, Sonya Wikitera, says the agency is pleased with the level of interest, noting several promising proposals for potential businesses.
“We are now assessing proposals against a range of criteria, including community benefit, tourism value, commercial uniqueness, environmental impact, and recognition of local culture,” says Ms Wikitera.
Proposals that meet LINZ criteria will be invited to submit a formal application. Those selected will also be required to seek the necessary consents from relevant councils.
As this stage of the process was limited to expressions of interest, LINZ will not be releasing further details about the proposed businesses at this time. However, we will provide a public update as soon as possible.
