Reasons for decision
The Commissioner of Crown Lands has determined that granting consent to direct drill this area is important to enhance previous investment of over sowing and top-dressing. The conditions imposed protect any inherent values.
Conditions of decision
Consent is granted to cultivate (direct drill), subject to the following conditions:
- The cultivation technique shall be limited to direct drilling only.
- Seed is to be certified weed free and limited to recognised pasture species.
- Lupins are not to be sown.
- Machinery used for direct drilling should be cleaned and weed free.
- Continued inputs of maintenance seed and fertiliser are to be applied to ensure the effective life of the permanent pasture.
- No spraying out of existing cover will occur at this site prior to direct drilling.
- All contractors and employees working on Sawdon Station in relation to this consent are informed of all conditions of this consent prior to carrying out any work.
The Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 provides that permission to undertake the activity may still be needed under other enactments.
