What is proposed?
The proposals are to make:
- Te Punawaitī the official name of a spring in the bush northwest of Waipuna Stream at Waikawa, northeast of Picton.
- Wairepo Stream the official name of a small stream flowing from the valley south of the Snout Track carpark at Victoria Domain for approximately 1.6km south then southwest to Picton Harbour.

The Board will consider any submissions received for these proposals at its next hui. The outcome will be that either the Board itself or the Minister for Land Information will make the final decision. This page will be updated when the final decision is made.

At its hui on 30 June 2026 the Board considered this report on the proposals, which is updated with the Board’s decisions. The proposals are notified for one month so that the public can make submissions supporting or objecting to the proposed names.
