Welcome to this July edition of Landwrap.

In this issue, we share

• updates to the Contact Centre phone menu coming next week
• a reminder to keep your Trusted Contact details current
• an underlying technology change that compiles survey plans in Landonline and
• a new Marks panel toggle that lets you change a mark type without renaming it.

New phone menu coming soon – faster routing to the right team

We’re introducing a new phone menu to help direct your call to the right support team more quickly.

What’s changing?

From 8 July, when you call 0800 665 463 you’ll be guided through a short set of options to route your enquiry.

What you’ll hear when you call*

You’ll first be asked to choose from three main options:

• Press 1 – Landonline enquiries
• Press 2 – Crown Property (including leases and rentals)
• Press 3 – All other enquiries

If you select Landonline (Press 1), you’ll then be able to choose:

• Press 2 – Dealing users
• Press 3 – Survey / Territorial Authority users
• Press 4 – Web Search users
• Press 5 – Finance enquiries

*Each of these has their own menu with specific support options.

Why this is being introduced

This change will help:

• Get you to the right specialist faster ✅ 
• Reduce time spent being transferred ✅
• Improve overall response times ✅

What you need to do

No action is required, but when calling:

• Listen to the options and select the one that best matches your query.
• Have any relevant details ready (e.g. dealing or survey information).

Are your Landonline Trusted Contact details current?

Every Landonline account (firm) must have a Trusted Contact. And every Trusted Contact needs to have their own Landonline access.

The Trusted Contact is the person authorised to manage key actions for your Landonline account. They are responsible for:

• Approving the addition of people to your account
• Reminding users to keep their access credentials secure
• Making sure your account complies with the Landonline Terms and Conditions
• Approving changes to account details, including the account name
• Requesting removal of user access
• Approving the closure of the account
• Acting as the main contact for LINZ on account matters

Please check that your Trusted Contact details are up to date. If a change is needed, email us at customersupport@linz.govt.nz.

If the Trusted Contact is also set up as a System Manager, they will be able to see all users currently associated with their account (firm). And they will be able to directly update firm and individual details too.

Changes to Survey and Title plan format

We have changed the underlying technology that compiles survey plans in Landonline.

From 6 July, new plans will be compiled as PDF instead of TIFF in Plan Generation.

This also means that in Web Search, any plans approved or registered after 5 July will be available to download in PDF format only.

Key changes in plans compiled after 5 July:

New look and feel:

• colour logo at top right corner
• cleaner, more readable fonts and style
• the mark and vector report is now a text-searchable PDF.

On the Survey and Title sheets:

• the Date of Survey is now on the left under Land District
• the Surveyor’s reference now appears under Surveyor and Firm.

All pages are automatically orientated when viewing or printing.

Change mark type without renaming: new toggle in the Marks panel

Editing marks in Landonline just got more flexible. Until now, changing a mark's type automatically updated its name type to match. That coupling suited most tasks, but it got in the way whenever you needed the type and name to differ from the default field mapping (for example, respecting an adopted mark name).

A new Also update mark name toggle now sits at the top of the Type drop-down in the Marks panel. Switch it off to change a mark's type without touching its name. It is switched on by default, and you can switch it off if you don’t want mark type updates to impact the mark name.
