Reasons for decision
The Commissioner of Crown Lands grants consent to an exemption to the stock limitation in the lease to allow the leaseholder to carry 32,000 stock units calculated as follows:
- Breeding ewes 1.0su
- Dry sheep 0.7su
- Breeding cows 6.0su
- Dry cattle 4.5su
- Deer 2.0su
The Commissioner has previously determined that the proposed stock exemption is within the overall carrying capacity of the property. The stock exemption recommended to be granted is on the basis of the current pasture being maintained in order to sustain the number of stock units.
Conditions of decision
Consent is granted, subject to the following condition:
All developed pastures being maintained with adequate fertiliser in accordance with best practice.
The Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 provides that permission to undertake the activity may still be needed under other enactments.
