Reasons for decision

The Commissioner of Crown Lands has determined that granting consent to maintain the existing tracks will make it easier to use the land for farming purposes, and that any adverse effects on inherent values can be minimised through compliance with the conditions specified above.

Conditions of decision

Consent is granted for track maintenance, subject to the following conditions:

  1. Maintenance of existing tracks is confined to the existing footprint of the tracks.
  2. Track maintenance must adhere to the recommended guidelines for track construction.
  3. All machinery brought on site must be thoroughly cleaned to reduce the risk of introducing exotic weeds.
  4. Maintenance is not to be undertaken during periods of high fire risk.

The Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 provides that permission to undertake the activity may still be needed under other enactments.
