For surveyors, make sure you're aware of the multi-lingual resources that can help you gain authority to enter private property, and if you're working in Canterbury note our recent resurvey.
Expiry of contract date exemption for Land Transfer Tax Statements
Lawyers and conveyancers
An important date is coming up for the property tax information required by the Land Transfer Amendment Act 2015. Under the Act, sellers and buyers don’t need to provide tax information if the contract date for the transfer of the land was entered into before 1 October 2015; and the transfer is registered on or before 1 April 2016.

Entry onto land brochure for surveyors
Surveyors
We’ve heard from some surveyors that gaining entrance onto private land has been difficult at times. Sometimes, property owners do not understand why a surveyor may need to access their property and may refuse to give permission. We’ve produced this resource to help surveyors explain why they may need to go on to private property, and what the property owners' rights are. It’s available from our website in seven different languages.

Landonline maintenance release in early April

We’re planning a small Landonline maintenance release, scheduled for Monday 4th April. This means Landonline will not be available on Saturday 2 April 2016.
For Titles users the release will include removing the contract date exemption for tax statements to meet statutory requirements. See the article above for more information on this change.
We'll share more information, as well as confirmation of this timing, closer to the release date.
