Reasons for decision

The Commissioner’s delegate has determined that granting consent to disturb soil to install a reliable household and livestock water system while complying with the above conditions will benefit farming and protect the inherent values mentioned by the DGC.

Conditions of decision

Consent is granted for soil disturbance to install a water supply system, subject to the following conditions:

  1. The installation of 20m3 settling ponds is not permitted with minimal intake structures to be applied, and
  2. The springs to be fenced off from livestock, and
  3. Allow seepage from springs to continue, and
  4. Machinery used during installation to be cleaned and weed free, and
  5. Pipelines are to be installed by use of a mole-plough or similar, and
  6. Disturbed areas to be consolidated and revegetated, and
  7. Any structures such as a water tank or pump shed are to be of a colour that blends into the landscape.
  8. The applicants to ensure that any district or regional council consents required are obtained prior to installation commencing.
