Disturb Soil
Duration of consent
10 years with maintenance rights
Reasons for decision
The Commissioner of Crown Lands has determined that granting consent to install a water intake on Cloudy Peaks Pastoral Lease will have minimal environmental impact on inherent values.
Conditions of decision
Consent is granted for disturbing soil, subject to the following conditions:
- All machinery is to be thoroughly cleaned before being brought on site to minimise the risk of introducing weeds.
- Soil disturbance is to be kept to the minimum necessary for the installation of the water intake and associated pipework.
- No additional material should be deposited into stream, other than the material from Cowan Stream.
- The ground disturbed to install the water pipeline is to be compacted on completion to minimise erosion risk.
- Disturbed areas outside of the riverbed are to be revegetated with certified weed free grasses and legumes to match the cultivated paddocks and adequate fertiliser to encourage establishment.
- All contractors and employees engaged in the construction of the water intake and associated pipework are informed of the conditions of this consent prior to any works starting.
The Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 provides that permission to undertake the activity may still be needed under other enactments.
