What is proposed?

The proposal is to make Kākahu-pekepeke the official name of a stream in Otūmoetai flowing north then northwestward to Tauranga Harbour.

At its hui on 30 April 2026 the Board considered this report on the proposal. The proposal is notified for two months so that the public can make submissions supporting or objecting to the proposed name.

The Board will consider any submissions received for this proposal at its next hui. The outcome will be that either the Board itself or the Minister for Land Information will make the final decision. This page will be updated when the final decision is made.
