Sea level data

Toitū Te Whenua curates a national record of sea level data which come from a variety of sources. We use those data to create our yearly tide predictions and long-term annual mean sea level values.

We have established a network of sea level monitoring sites at 20 locations around New Zealand and Antarctica. The data are available for download.

We also receive sea level data in kind from other providers such as port companies and regional councils. For more information see the pages in this section.
